# Digital tax consultant

**Use case:** This tool runs an R\&D tax credit assessment as a digital consultation, benchmarking a company's claim against similar businesses by size and industry, and returning a risk-profiled priority score with the reasoning behind it. **End-user:** Tax specialist, guiding a client through the assessment

**The decision:** How a company's R\&D claim should be prioritised and risk-profiled, based on the specifics of the claim and how it compares to similar claimants by company size and industry.

**The knowledge graph:** Encodes the expertise needed to assess R\&D claims across different industries and company sizes, including how to weigh a claim's benefits, risks and opportunities against a wider claimant population.

**Integration:** A custom application holds the digital consultation with the end-user, asking only the questions Rainbird needs to complete its assessment. Once enough information is gathered, Rainbird returns a priority rating score with the reasoning behind it, benchmarked against similar claimants.

**Evidence:** Every result returns the reasoning behind the priority rating and how the claim compares to similar businesses, so the tax specialist can walk the client through the outcome and agree next steps together.
